President Mahama has apologized to Ghanaians for the erratic power supply being experienced under the current load shedding exercise.

The president rendered the apology when he cut sod for the Tumu- Han-Wa 161 Kilo Volt transmission line project in the Upper West Regional capital, Wa, where he is currently touring.

“Currently we’ve going through load-shedding and I wish to apologise once again to the people of Ghana for the inconvenience they are suffering as a result of this load-shedding,” he said adding “through our own effort we are bringing some extra generation into our system of at less 200 megawatts.”

He said by the middle of the year when gas is supplied to the thermal plants in the country, it will bring the load-shedding to an end.

President Mahama also extended his condolences to the family of the two engineers who died while fixing the gas pipeline which has resulted in the power cuts. President Mahama also pledged that his government if retained will ensure sufficient power supply to the country.
