The Chairman of the Finance Committee in Parliament, James Avedzi says lack of transparency of payment disclosures in Africa's extractive industry has robbed the continent of needed revenue for development.
He said the situation has brought untold hardship to people in communities blessed with such natural resources.
Mr Avedzi has therefore proposed that Africa's leadership show stronger commitment of creating initiatives that will incorporate greater benefits to their citizenry.
He said this at a conference on International Transparency initiatives in Accra.
