A member of the parliamentary committee on food and agriculture, Bright Demordzi, says it is not true that agriculture production has grounded to a halt under the National Democratic Congress, NDC, government.
Reacting to a news conference by the minority in parliament yesterday on agriculture production, Mr.Demordzi said in the last four years, government has set up 63 agric mechanisation centres throughout the country .
He told Radio Ghana that, government is working with the Brazilian government to procure 200 tractors to augment what is already in the system. In 2012 alone, government subsidized one hundred and seventy metric tons of fertilizer.
On the way forward, Mr. Demordzi called for the harmonisation of all agriculture programmes to increase production.
