Panelists on GTV�s Current Affairs Programme, �Talking Point�, which discussed management of the Petroleum fund, say the review of the petroleum law is to ensure transparency and efficient management of the fund.
They agreed that though the current regulatory measures ensure proper disbursement of the fund, there are grey areas that need to be patched up.
The chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee, Major Daniel Abloh Quarcoo, believes Ghana will be the winner if the law is revised.
A representative of the Ministry of Finance, Kwabena Boadu Oku-Affari asked Ghanaians to assist in identifying loop holes in the law to enable the ministry to present a comprehensive document to cabinet for consideration and approval.
The Acting Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Finance, Mangowa Ghanney said there are inconsistencies in the current law.
