The year-on-year inflation from the producer’s perspective for all industry was 7.2% in October 2018. This rate is 1.4 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in September 2018 (5.8%).
Baah Wadieh, acting Government Statistician, who disclosed this to the media in Accra, said the monthly change rate for October 2018 was 1.6%.
The manufacturing sub-sector recorded the highest year-on-year producer price inflation rate of 9.7 percent, followed by the Mining and Quarrying sub-sector with 4.4 percent.
The utilities sub-sector recorded the lowest year-on-year producer inflation of -0.1 percent.
With respect to the monthly changes, Manufacturing recorded the highest inflation rate of 2.1 percent, followed by the Mining and quarrying sub-sector with 1.1 percent.
The Utilities sub-sector recorded no change in inflation rate.
