Laudash Ghana Limited has introduced a new solar-powered home-cooling technology known as the Solar-Powered Roof Exhaust Vent onto the local market.
The technology requires creation of an 18-inch diameter hole in the ceiling of a building and subsequent installation of the cooling solar technology on the roof.
The Chief Executive Officer, Laudash Ghana Limited, Emmanuel Ashong, said proper roof ventilation systems allow a continuous flow of outside air through the roof and helps lower temperatures in the living space.
The technology will also help remove excessive heat and moisture to protect roofs from premature deterioration. One unit of the solar powered cooling panel will typically suffice for a 1,000 square foot or below house.
The technology has a maximum lifespan of 10 years. Comparatively, the technology will help consumers save cost on the use of air-conditioners and electric fans in their homes. The cost of the product plus installation is between US$450-US$625, Mr. Ashong said.
Laudash Ghana Limited and its USA-based subsidiary, The Wood Technologist Inc., are trained and certified to handle green energy needs and help lower utility costs.
