A new platform to enable groups of persons irrespective of their geographical location come together virtually via a phone call to exchange ideas formally and informally has been launched by Africa’s leading provider of tele-conferencing, Forum Networks Limited.

The concept known as ‘Forum Audio Conference’ basically is to allow persons from different locations to interactively collaborate and work more effectively and efficiently without the need to be physically present.

The essence of the audio-conferencing is to save time, reduce the stress associated with travel and to save fuel in a bid to increase productivity and economic development.

Speaking at the launch of the Forum Audio Conferencing which is the first such innovation in Ghana, the Chairman of Forum Network Limited, Kwesi Amoafo Yeboah, indicated that “with Forum Audio Conferencing, our phones have become our personal living rooms where we sit and converse with our family and friends, they have become the mango tree in the neighbourhood where people congregate to tell stories, they have become the family house where the extended family hold reunion or to discuss preparations for a funeral or other family activities.”

He further added that the project cuts across all spheres of life from politics through education to religion where the phone could become a classroom for group discussion, where religious organisations and churches now have the opportunity to conduct morning and evening devotions, prayer chains, cell meetings and motivational sessions among others.

In an interview with Citifmonline.com, the Product Manager, Samuel Menyah Absah Kissiedu, indicated that “it is for the basic man, it is for that farmer, it is for that driver and the very ordinary man on the streets, not for the high class consumer only although they can also use it.”
