In the months of June and July 2012, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited intends to increase customer patronage of its savings and MasterCard products and services through a strategic promotion aimed at rewarding those who sign on within the period.

Dubbed the GTBank MasterCard/Savings Promotion, customers and the general public are being offered the opportunity to simply open a savings account at any GTBank branch, sign on for a MasterCard, deposit a minimum of GH˘100 and be instantly rewarded with attractive interest rate, branded t-shirts and other souvenirs, free Internet banking, e-statement and email notification services etc during the promotion period.

To add impetus and excitement to the promotional campaign, a month-long radio quiz programme will also be organised to educate the public on savings and card usage, with attractive reward packages such as free savings account plus cash deposit, free MasterCard issued, branded souvenirs, Galaxy Tablets, etc for winners.

Tabling events will be held outside some branches of the Bank and other selected off-branch locations to also educate customers and the public on the importance and benefits of savings and card usage respectively, while positioning GTBank as the bank of choice for these products and services.

Key among benefits to customers is that they stand to ‘save for a rainy day’ while having access to their funds when they need it most via a network of over a million ATMs in more than 210 countries and 29.4 million Point of Sale (POS) terminals worldwide.

The GTBank Debit MasterCard offers exceptional benefits, rewards, services and spending power that can help make financial decisions easy and truly convenient.

Mr. Stephen Abban, the Group Head of Retail Banking, GTBank, stated that “Although this campaign is largely a deposit mobilisation and product promotion strategy, one cannot over-emphasise the point that the habit of savings and card usage in Ghana needs to be encouraged”.

He added that, “As a dominant player in the MasterCard business in Ghana and a bank with structured savings products to suit all classes, it makes business sense to direct the public in the right way and this is what our campaign is all about.”
