Artisans at the Tanokrom Kokompe Light Industrial Area will begin relocating to a new site at Kansaworodo near Takoradi.
A press release from the Western Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Garages (GNAG) said on Friday.
The release signed by Mr Jonathan Kwamina Kwadzie, the Regional Chairman, was read at a press conference organized by the Association in Takoradi.
It said the relocation, which would begin next week, would last for two weeks and the Regional Secretariat of the Association is collaborating with contractors working on the site at Kansaworodo to provide trucks to convey the containers and belongings of artisans free of charge.
The release said those who do not take advantage of this facility and continue to stay at the Tanokrom Kokompe Light Industrial Area would have to make their own arrangements to relocate after the two week period.
It said a Plots Allocation Committee has been put in place to allocate plots to artisans at Kansaworodo adding that the site has all necessary amenities such as toilet facilities, water and electricity supply, good road network and street lights.
