Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi is scheduled to meet US President Barack Obama in her first visit to the United States since she won a sweeping victory against the country's military rulers in last year's elections.
During their meeting on Wednesday, Obama is expected to consult with Aung San Suu Kyi on the further easing of US sanctions against Myanmar in an effort to help foreign investment and boost the country's transition to democracy, the White House said, according to Reuters news agency.
