Four of Britain's biggest supermarkets have been forced to withdraw thousands of products after it emerged 700,000 eggs from farms implicated in a contamination scare have been distributed to the UK.
Waitrose, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons are all being forced to withdraw sandwich fillings and other chilled foods after the Food Standards Agency made the announcement today - and revealed a far higher number of contaminated eggs than the previously estimated 21,000.
