Two-suspected members of a robbery gang, operating at Atasamanso, Sokoban, Apraman and Daban area of Kumasi, have been nabbed by the police.
One of them, Emmanuel Amankwaa, alias Opera, 19, has been standing trial in a Kumasi circuit court over an earlier robbery incident, and had just been granted bail when he was engaged in yet another robbery.
He is being held together with Godwin Mahama.
Police Chief Superintendent Laar Baman, Kumasi Central Commander, told the press that the two and one other person, on the run, had attacked the victim in his house on Friday, October 24, at about 0100 hours.
They were armed with a locally-manufactured pistol and knives.
He said the man, in an extraordinary display of courage, managed to take away the gun from them but got slashed on the forehead with a knife.
He said a formal report was made to the police and based on intelligence, Amankwaa and Godwin were arrested.
Both have already been identified by the victim as the very people who attacked him.
Meanwhile, the father of Amankwaa, whose name was given as Kofi Pipim, has also been arrested to assist police investigations.
