In court, the prosecutor, Isaac Agbemehia said the police arrested the convict and her sister upon a tip off the Anti—Human Trafficking Unit, CID Headquarters received from a victim who had been trafficked.

Prosecution added that during their arrest at Roman in Kasoa where victims of prostitution were housed, items such as condoms of various brands and an exercise book for the recording of sales of their victims were found.

Background

TV3 checks reveal that in March this year, the two Nigerian sisters, Jennifer Chizoba Jeremiah, 22 and Angel Chizoba 17 were busted by the police after a victim reported the inhumane treatment meted out to her by the two girls in Accra.

The victim whose name has been withheld was lured by the convict, Jennifer Chizoba, to Ghana after promising her a job as a sales girl. But the story changed on arrival in Ghana.

Jennifer and her sister, stripped the victim naked, took nude pictures of her and threatened to circulate them on social media if she does not show interest in the prostitution job they wanted to introduce her to.

They also compelled the victim to swear on pubic hairs they shaved from her genitals.

The victim then rendered account to Jennifer and her sister each day after work.

It was later found that she was not the only victim but other Nigerian girls have also been exploited.

Director of the anti-human trafficking unit of the criminal investigations department, Superintendent Mike Baah advised the public to be cautious of the people who make juicy job promises both in Ghana and abroad.

He said angel Chizoba’s sentence will be heard on Monday October 29.
