About 200 students of Ntroboman Senior High School (SHS) have been learning under trees for the past two years.
This is due to the inadequate classroom for all the over 800 students.
Mr. Michael Agbolosu, Assistant Headmaster of the School, said this when the Volta Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Amenorwode, met heads of departments and assembly members as part of his one week tour of the northern part of the region.
He said the school has 12 classrooms instead of 22 required for the five programmes it is running.
Mr. Agbolosu said classes had to be suspended during the rainy season while students had to wear sweaters or pullovers to be able to attend classes outside during the harmattan season.
He said the situation was seriously affecting teaching and learning and this has to be rectified to save the school from collapse.
The school also lacks accommodation for tutors and resorts to hiring bicycles to carry out activities that require the use of a vehicle.
