The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for the April 2011 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
A release issued on behalf of the Council by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Principal Public Affairs Officer, indicated that 186 candidates had their results of particular subjects cancelled while the entire BECE results of 13 candidates have been cancelled.

Release of Provisional Results for the April 2011 Basic Education Certificate Examination
The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous publics that it has released provisional results of the April 2011 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The results for schools will be dispatched through the District Directors of Education. Candidates may access their results online.
EXAMINATION IRREGULARITIES
One hundred and eighty-six (186) candidates had their subject results cancelled while thirteen (13) candidates had their entire results cancelled.
The affected candidates were involved in various examination results. These include
*bringing foreign material into the examination hall
*seeking/receiving help from non-candidates such as Invigilators, Supervisors and teachers
*tearing parts of their question paper and answer booklets and
*collusion
The results of three thousand eight hundred and fifty-five (3,855) candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into various examination irregularities.
