The Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) has finally agreed on a new market premium with the office of the national security.
POTAG declared an indefinite strike some weeks ago to demand better conditions of service from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).
Negotiations with the commission, however, broke down as the two parties could not agree on some parameters in the migration of POTAG unto the new pay policy - Single Spine Salary Structure.
The intervention of the national security resulted in POTAG calling off its strike.
The National President of POTAG, Francis Atintono, told Citi News that POTAG has met with its members as well as the other stakeholders to structure a roadmap towards migrating onto the pay policy.
He said the new salaries should be ready by May.
