President Mahama has called for efficiency in the management of the country's education system.
He said Ghana has one of the best education systems in the world and has produced graduates in all professions who compete favourably anywhere in the world.
President Mahama said government will continue to expand infrastructure at all levels and asked stakeholders to get on board to ensure equity.
President Mahama said this in a speech read for him by the Minister of Education, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang at the opening of the 66th Annual New Year School and Conference at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, on his part said developing the human capital in education will go a long way to improve on the quality of education in the country.
He said investing in ICT will not only put graduates in competitive positions but also equip them to contribute to the economic growth of the country.
