The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has revoked the Institutional and programme accreditation status granted to Meridian University College, at Kasoa in the Central Region to operate as a private tertiary educational institution in the country.
The revocation with retrospective effect from September 1st, 2014, comes in the wake of the closure of Meridian University College and the successful absorption of all Meridian University College students into West End University College also at Kasoa to complete their respective course of study.
A statement of revocation signed by Mr Kwame Dattey, NAB Executive Director and obtained by the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday stated.
The statement explained that the revocation is in consonance with the NABs mandate under section 2 of the National Accreditation Board Act 2007 (Act 744).
NAB therefore caution the public to take note of the cancellation of the accreditation of Meridian University College and desist from doing any business with it.
