Stanbic Bank continues to invest in educational projects in order to secure the education of future generations and help communities grow.

The bank donated Ghc3000 to the Suma Development Fund to help construct the Business School of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) at Suma-Ahenkro in the Jaman North District of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

In a bid to encourage education, the chiefs and people of the Suma Traditional Area intend to construct four lecture theatres, an administration block with offices, a computer laboratory and a library for the University of Energy and Natural Resources campus to be constructed in the area.

The self-help project is expected to begin in March and end in August, after which the first batch of students will be admitted by September 2015.

At the sod cutting ceremony of the University project, which took place during the Suma Akwentu Kese Festival, Stanbic Bank reiterated its commitment to contribute to the development of the Suma Traditional Area.

“Stanbic believes in moving forward. And we believe in helping our communities move forward with us by giving them what they need to grow. We believe in helping Suma Ahenkro, in the next few years, transform into a far more developed community. And education, no doubt, is what the community needs to break out of poverty,” said Hakeem Shaibu, the Sunyani Branch Manager of Stanbic Bank.

Over the years, Stanbic bank has been committed to creating prosperity and giving back to the people of Ghana. The bank provides critical social support in education, sports development, the agricultural sector, poverty relief, health and environmental protection.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Suma Traditional Area, the Public Relations officer of Suma Development Fund commended the Bank for its support.

The bank pledged its continuous and unflinching support towards other projects that are equally aimed at spurring development in the Suma traditional area.
