Prudential Life Insurance Ghana has presented valuable awards to the top five students in actuarial science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The awards are part of a major initiative by the life insurer, which is part of the global financial services group Prudential plc, to support high achieving actuarial science students in Ghana. Prudential awarded the five outstanding students the cedi equivalent of 500USD, reimbursed their exams fees and provided study notes at an awards ceremony on 2 July 2015.
The KNUST award winners were Isaac Adjei Owusu, Emmanuel Akuamoah Agyare Sackey, Derrick Kofi Nkansah, Frank Koranteng Saforo and Bright Antwi-Boasiako, who achieved the highest grades and was also awarded a year-long internship at Prudential.
Christian Cofie, Head of Actuary at Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, said: “We hope these awards will go a long way to help the recipients build careers in insurance. We take a long-term view of our operations and are committed to investing in our communities through education.”
Mr Antwi-Boasiako said: “We are extremely grateful to Prudential for the awards and the opportunities which have been given to us. Thank you very much.”
