The Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has received ten Toyota Hilux pickups from the National Service Scheme (NSS) on behalf of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Mr. Mustapha Ussif, Executive Secretary of the National Service Scheme (NSS), who presented the pickups to the Minister, stated that the donation was a collaboration between the NSS and GES on the School Farms Project and the Farmer Feeds School Project.
Receiving the keys to the pickups, the Minister, lauded the Scheme on the good works being done in promoting national development and expressed the hope that GES, who were being given the cars, will put them to good use.
“It is our desire that this donation to GES will in turn, play a role that will lead to increased agricultural productivity in the country” he added.
Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, Director-General of GES, expressed appreciation for the gesture. and noted that the donation fed into the agricultural vision of H. E. the President, by encouraging schools to generate their own farm produce and even go ahead and supply the local market.
