The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the placements of 423,134 students who have successfully made it under the 2018 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

This is out of the 490, 514 students who qualified for Free Senior High School (SHS).
It means 67,382 could not be placed under the system.

A total 521,710 students registered and sat the examination.

This means that 31,196 failed to qualify for SHS.
The over 423,134 will also begin the double track system introduced by government.
The system, which begins this September will see one set of students in school whilst others are on vacation.

In a release by the GES, it said candidates are to visit www.cssps.gov.gh to access their placements.

It said candidates placed on the GREEN TRACK will resume on September 11, 2018, whereas the GOLD TRACK will resume on November 8, 2018.

GES asked Basic Education Certificate examination candidates who did not get automatic placement into senior high schools by the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) to try again.

The Service says it has made available a pool of schools from which the students can choose from on its online platform manually.
The candidates were not placed because they did not get any of the five schools they had chosen.

The GES did not do the placement for them because it wanted the candidates to do so themselves.

To access the portal the first thing to do is to get a pin code. Dial *713*24# to get the code on phone and then log on to the site.

The GES is assuring parents that a number of schools have been uploaded onto the platform and their wards should go through the placement without hitches.

Regional solution centres have also been set up at all Regional Education Offices where candidates with genuine concerns can visit for resolution.

Government has explained that the double-in-take is meant to cater for the spike in enrollment into Senior High Schools (SHSs) due to the free SHS policy.
