The Member of Parliament for the Efutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo Markin has been asked to back off happenings at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
It can be recalled that Afenyo-Markin, played a role in the removal of the then Vice-Chancellor (VC) of UEW, Professor Mawutor Avoke and the swearing in of the current one, Rev. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni who subsequently courted controversy for dismissing some lecturers of the school.
Currently, the MP seems to be contradicting the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan after the latter announced that UEW has been closed due to the attitude of the demonstrating students.
After the Minister's announcement, the Efutu MP took to Facebook to also announce that the students should not go home because the school had been reopened; this the Minister dispelled.
Speaking to this on Joy Newsfile programme, the Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, asked Afenyo to "take a bit of a low profile"
"he should cool down," he said.
