An explosion in the Syrian capital Damascus has hit a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims, with dozens of casualties reported.
The blast took place near the al-Sayyida Zeinab shrine for Shia Muslims. One Iranian report said six people had been killed, including the driver.
Such incidents are rare in Syria, but there was one major attack last year. In September 2008 a car bomb near Damascus killed at least 17 people on a road leading to the same site.
No group said it carried out that attack but officials blamed Fatah al-Islam, a Sunni Islamist group.
