The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has issued an apology to its clients and the general public for "any inconvenience and negative impressions created as a result of the recent increment in its service charges."

In a press statement issued by the Hospital, the Management and Board indicated that the Hospital went through the laid down procedures pursuant to the increment.

According to a press statement, a letter from the Ministry of Finance dated July 31,2013 which stated that the implementation of the new fees would commence after the 21 sitting days of Parliament was interpreted to mean 21 working days.

“The action is very much regretted and steps are being taken to effect refund to the affected clients while the Hospital awaits the 21-day mandatory period for the maturity of the legislative instrument to be due.

"The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is a patient- centered facility and our patients’ interests have always been at the centre of our activities," it stated.
