A strategic plan has been laid to tackle Neglected Tropical Diseases. The master plan which was launched in Accra, would take five years according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
As an initiative of the GHS and its Development Partners, the plan seeks to eliminate ten targeted diseases that have burdened Ghana and hampered its socio- economic development especially in the rural areas.
The outgoing Minister of Health, Madam Sherry Ayittey said the five year plan will achieve its goal through a mass drug administration system.
