Long queues at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) offices at Suhum are discouraging many market women in the Suhum Municipality from registering under the biometric registration exercise of the NHIA.
Madam Christiana Opatah, a fish seller, told the GNA that due to long queues at the NHIS centres, she found it difficult to leave her fish business and go to the centre to queue for a whole day for the registration.
She said it was not her intention not to go and register but she could not afford to queue for days for the registration when she did not have anybody to sell her fish for her in her absence.
Madam Stella Ayorkor, an okro seller, told the GNA that she had not registered because of the long queues and that she was waiting for the queues to reduce.
