The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwasi Pratt, has described the former Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani as a matured statesman, concerning a statement the former Chief of staff made on air concerning the Ghana@50 Committee for enquiry.
According to the Social Commentator, Mr Mpiani disclosed that he was happy that the President had set up a Committee for Enquiry to investigate the expenditure of Ghana@50 to ensure transparency and accountability. He stated this is a matured statement.
The social brain was reacting to yesterdays Public hearing of the Presidential Commission set up to inquire into the activities of the Ghana@50 secretariat. At its sitting, the commission invited the executives of Prudential Bank to testify about the banks transactions with the secretariat. It was revealed that the Bank granted a short-term credit facility of GH10 million to the secretariat which according to the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr Sekyere-Abankwah, cannot be considered as a loan.
Mr Pratt however criticized the section of the public for allegedly pointing fingers at the NDC Administration claiming it is harassing former government officials. He stated even Mr Mpiani himself is satisfied with the committee, so why are some of us describing it as witch hunting?
