Mr. Boakye-Dankwa Boadi, the Supervising Chief Editor of the Ghana News Agency, has urged the agency’s stringers to avoid practices that could rubbish the achievements of GNA.

He said the agency, which is the first wire service to be established in black Africa, had won the confidence of Ghanaians with its factual and unbiased stories and this must be protected.

Mr. Boadi was delivering a paper on “reporting to build a knowledge-based society” at a three-day workshop organized by United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in collaboration with Media and Communication Advocacy Network (MCAN) in Ho on Tuesday.

Over 30 reporters and stringers of the GNA from the Volta, Central, Northern, Upper East and Western regions attended.

Mr. Boadi said the agency would continue to promote national cohesion and integration and would remain the source of credible news.

Mr. Mawusi Afele, the News Editor of GNA, advised the editorial staff to read good local and foreign magazines to broaden their knowledge and improve their skills in news reporting.

Mr Afele urged reporters to be mindful of the way they present themselves when on assignments in order to protect the image of the agency.
