Two female children aged 4 and 2 years, last night at about 11pm, lost their lives tragically as a result of a fire outbreak in a kiosk they reside in at Tantra Hill, near Ofankor, a suburb of Accra.

The mother of the two victims, Rosina Botwe, 26 left the children after preparing supper for them to spend the night with his newly found boyfriend.

According to her, she lighted a candle wax but positioned it at a place far from the kids. Unfortunately, she received a phone call from a neighbour telling her about the incident around 12 midnight.

Rosina, the mother of the children, sells provisions and other foodstuffs to make ends meet.

The father of the children is serving a jail term, after being imprisoned in April of this year for a misdemeanor.

According to some good Samaritans who helped in putting out the fire before the arrival of the Ghana Fire Service personnel, they detected the smoke around 10.30pm and rushed to the scene.

However, the wooden kiosk was locked and by the time they forced it open, the blazing inferno had snuffed out the lives of the two kids who had been burnt beyond recognition.

The mother of the two kids is now with the Mile 7 police, assisting them with investigations.
