A Think Tank, the Forum for Governance and Justice, has begun collating signatures from Ghanaians as it prepares to organise a procession on Thursday June 9, to petition the Chief Justice.
The group is petitioning the Chief Justice over the decision by the Association of Magistrates and Judges to boycott cases involving some four lawyers, who have been accused of labelling the judiciary with corruption publicly without empirical evidence.
The Think Tank considers the boycott by the Judges as a victimization of the lawyers, who were repeating what has become a widespread public perception.
A Leading Member of the Forum for Governance and Justice, Dr. Clement Apaak, told Citi News the Forums move will safeguard the freedoms of Ghanaians from abuse by people placed in powerful positions.
