Peacefmonline.com can confirm that the Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayibonte II, in the early hours of Monday barged into the offices of the Ga Traditional Council and the Ga Mantse Palace, seizing the two main powerhouses of the Ga Kingdom.
He was accompanied by the Asene Gyesehene, Nii Amarkai III, one of the principal Ga kingmakers together with the newly-enstooled Ga Mantse, George Tackie whose stool name is Nii Tackie Adama Latse II.
The palace is located at James Town and the Traditional Council at North Kaneshie.
The Gbese Mantse affirmed the news to PeaceFM.
The Gbese Mantse, who kept to his threats to enstool a new Ga Manste before the year ends, alleging, Nii Tackie Tawiah II was enstooled by the previous Kufuor administration, said he ambled into the palace without any form of resistance from any quarters.
Nii Ayi Bonte, known in private life as Tommy Okine and who was until his enstoolment the Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, swore before a gathering last week that he should be destooled if he fails to enstool a new chief.
True to his word, and with the tacit support of some king makers in the Ga state, the enstoolment took place on Sunday June 12.
The new "Ga Mantse", George Tackie, is a London based business man who hails from Piam, one of the Royal Houses within the Ga state.
Meanwhile, peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that a possible bloodshed is eminent as supporters of Nii Tackie Tawiah II who is acclaimed as the Ga Mantse and recognised as the chairman of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, are said to be preparing to march over to the palace to take back their rightful place.
Stay tuned.
