One person has been shot dead in Arigu in the Walewale Constituency of the Northern Region of Ghana.
Reports indicate that a group of persons wearing balaclava (mask) are on rampage burning down houses.
Citi Newsďż˝ Upper East Regional correspondent, Agana Bawa, who is in the community said personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service are frantically trying to control the fire.
He said about eight houses have been torched and there is a need for reinforcement to beef up the security situation in the community.
The situation here is very tensed, Bawa reported.
I can see so many people holding machetes, short guns, single barrel guns and they are shooting. The police will need to get reinforcement because the number here outweighs them.
