Former Chief of Staff in the Kufuor Administration,Kwadwo Mpiani has broken his silence on the alleged abrogation of the ISOFOTON Contract that has been attributed to him.
He produced a letter by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in 2007 addressed to the Attorney General which sought to dismiss claims of a breach of contract.
The letter he read to Radio Ghana gives the Ministry of Finance the authority to sign the contract with any Spanish Company under the Spanish protocol.
He said the letter shows that the Contract ISOFOTON is claiming to have with the government was not properly procured and not signed by the appropriate Institution.
Meanwhile, lawyer for ISOFOTON S.A and former Volta Regional Minister Kofi Owusu Yeboah has reacted to comments by a cross section of the public especially the former Chief of Staff Kwadwo Mpiani that the Spanish Company does not deserve to be paid any judgement debt of $ 1.3m.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Owusu Yeboah said these comments turn to undermine the authority of the courts.
He said his client obtained judgement and has so far received $ 400,000.
