President John Mahama has tasked the Ghana Gas Company and the Public Utility Providers to work hard to accelerate the country's own gas development so as to reduce the country's reliance on the West African Gas pipeline.
Addressing officials of the utility provider in Accra, President Mahama stressed the need for the country to build its capacity to generate gas.
President Mahama also asked the Electricity Company of Ghana to engage bulk users of power on how to use power during the off peak periods.
He pledged government's conscious support to the providers.
