Many shops at Achimota have closed down in response to the crisis.
The tragic incident which occurred on Wednesday, November 7 has forced shop owners to cease operation temporarily.
The Achimota branch of Fidelity bank has been locked up and none of the workers were on cite.
e.tv Ghana news has been reliably informed that the high rise building within which fidelity bank is operating belongs to the owner of the collapsed Melcom building.
Occupants of the buildings around the disaster are evacuating the building.
The Achimota branch of Standard Chartered Bank has stopped business with messages sent to customers about their unavailability to work.
Residents have also suspended their individual business activities as they look on while rescue team work assiduously to retrieve those trapped.
