The Bureau of Public Safety has called on President John Mahama to sack the Mayor of Accra and the Minister for Interior for the increasing number of fire outbreaks in Ghana.
The Head of the Bureau, Nana Yaw Akwada, described as outrageous, the number of fire outbreaks Ghana in the last six months.
Speaking to Citi News, Nana Yaw Akwada said the Mayor of Accra and the Minister for Interior have a responsiblity to prevent fire outbreaks.
These market fires have been too recurrent to the extent that we have not seen, as a country, any comprehensive program targeted at stemming this tide of fire in our major markets, he stated.
Mr. Akwada further opined, Probably, it is time for the minister for interior to resign; it is time for the President to fire the AMA boss because as a country, we cannot be going in circles. We have seen too many fire incidents in the last one year.
We have seen Kejetia on fire; we have seen Makola and now Kantamanto. As a country, we are losing too much to these fires its as if there are no people with heads in this country, he added.
