Personnel of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) was on early Monday morning caught on camera browsing on his new Samsung galaxy s3 whiles there was a heavy traffic from Accra to Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
Pedestrians and drivers of both commercial and private cars were all surprised to see the Police officer leaning on the traffic light pillar unconcerned to direct the traffic but busily enjoying browsing on his tablet phone.
One may have thought the officer would even help school children to cross the road from one end to the other since drivers from different directions were struggling to join the main road to Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
But this was just a mere thought when the officer turned blind eyes to both school children and pedestrians as they wriggled with drivers themselves to cross the road.
The question is should the police be banned from using their smart phones whiles on duty or should it be allowed?
