President John Mahama has left Accra on a day's official visit to Guinea Bissau ahead of that country's elections over the weekend.
President Mahama in his capacity as the new chair of ECOWAS will hold discussions with members of the interim government and other candidates.
He will also meet officials of the ECOWAS delegation in Guinea-Bissau to ensure smooth and credible Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Guinea-Bissau's Presidential and Parliamentary elections have been postponed twice since November last year.
