Three minors believed to be members of a robbery gang have been remanded into the Juvenile Remand Home by a Kumasi Circuit Court presided over by Mr D.W.P. Amedior.

Their pleas were not taken and they will make their next court appearance on May 5.

David Owusu, alias Aguashie, a 23-year-old ex-convict, who is standing trial with them, has also been remanded.

They reportedly attacked and robbed their victim, Samuel Opoku, of his mobile phone and an unspecified amount of money at the Breman Commentary Junction in Kumasi on March 15.

They also inflicted deep razor blade wounds on the victim and left him to his fate at about 2130 hours.

Police Inspector Joe Debrah told the court that Opoku identified the three about a month later when he came across them harassing another person and caused their arrest, but one of them fled.

A search on them uncovered locally-made pistols, four pairs of scissors, phones, knives, unspecified amount of money and some pieces of cement paper suspected to be used to wrap Indian hemp.

The decision by the court to remand them was to allow the police to carry out further investigation and forward the docket to the Attorney-Generals Department for direction.
