The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has received with shock the sudden demise of two of the party’s women organizers. Hajia Adisa Sali, Greater Accra Deputy Women’s Organizer and Madam Agnes Tia Deputy Volta Regional Women’s Organiser died in a motor accident on the Kintampo- Techiman road over the weekend.

The NDC wishes to express its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, especially their spouses and children on this sad event which has thrown the party into a state of mourning across the country and the Diaspora.

We mourn with our comrades who have over the years sacrificed and toiled for the development of the NDC. Their death has left a big hole in the leadership of the party, especially at the women and youth levels. Indeed the party has lost potential national organizers whose depth of political knowledge and institutional memories would have been of immense benefit to the party.

The two women had worked tireless and selflessly in the organization and mobilization of the party at the grassroots. They were a disciplined duo who executed their roles with tact, zeal, abiding commitment and loyalty both as facilitators and organizers.

The NDC would forever remember them as dedicated comrades who contributed immensely to the growth and development of party and multiparty democracy in the country as a whole.

The NDC also extends its condolences to the families of Mrs. Aina Ibrahim Quaigraine and all Ghanaians who lost their lives through unfortunate lorry accidents over the week end. The party wishes to use this occasion to once more appeal to all drivers to be mindful on the road by adhering strictly to road safety regulations in order to safeguard the lives of passengers.

The NDC wishes the surviving victims of the accidents speedy recovery.

SIGNED – 28/4/14
