A renowned Pharmacist, Professor Alex Dodoo of the University of Ghana Medical School has suggested that in resolving the economic difficulties facing the country, Ghana should opt for the governance system of Technocracy where tried and tested Technocrats would steer the affairs of the state.
According to him, Ghana would be a country free of economic hardships if a Technocrat is chosen to lead and steer affairs for a while after which it would revert to the prevailing system of democracy.
Speaking yesterday on Multi TVs Joy News channel on a programme dubbed Prof Alex Dodoos take on Health, Wealth and National Regeneration, the Professor noted that Italy in 2011 forewent democratic rule and opted for Technocracy just to alleviate the country from the economic hardship.
To buttress his point, he recalled that the Senchi forum was an attempt to bring together technocrats with economic background to find ways to solve the difficulties in Ghana and insisted that his suggestion was not far fetched.
We are in a country where insults are running rather than facts, where the country is being polarized to the extent that we are not using the best brain to solve the problems because of political background, he asserted.
Considering the challenges the political arena was facing, Prof. Dodoo beseeched the leadership of Ghana to consider seriously his decision with a promise that we will be doing the country a good deed by practicing Technocracy.
