The Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority, Peter Azuma, says the Authority, the Naval Command and other security agencies have put in place measures at the lower Volta and the Bui corridors to minimise accidents on the country's lakes and rivers.
Mr Azuma told Radio Ghana that directives have also been issued to tour operators along the country's lakes and coast to implement safety regulation and standards to protect tourists who visit such sites.
Mr Azuma congratulated the security agencies for maximum cooperation and asked tourists to also take safety regulations seriously when they visit such sites.
