The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu has asked public sector workers to allow government play a lead role in managing their pension scheme.
He says the law sees it as an employer sponsored scheme and not employee scheme and that government perceives a risk with the management of the pension fund by Unions.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Haruna said when the scheme is made employer led, Pension schemes will be safe.
Mr Haruna Iddrisu said workers should resume work because strike cannot resolve problems.
Meanwhile, a visit to some offices and organisations in the Central working District of Accra revealed a division over the strike.
While some organisations were busy with normal duties, others laid down their tools.
They are demanding that government address their grievances on the pension fund.
