Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight, Mr. Ken Agyei Kuranchie has called on the ruling NDC government to stop concerning itself with the factual inaccuracies on the report about where the busted cocaine lady passed before boarding the flight and focus on the porosity of the security system at KIA.
According to him, government reactions to Ruby Adu Gyamfis cocaine saga have been wrong and the way President Mahama responded to the arrest of some media personnel over the 12.5kilos of cocaine by the BNI is not the best approach.
He faulted the NDC government for the fact that the lady in question was arrested in Heathrow Airport for nearly a week before government officials even reported on it; adding he didnt see anything wrong with the report on the website of Citionline.com.
Speaking on Oman Fms Morning Show , Ken Kuranchie said President Mahama and his government should be concerned with why it was possible for the lady to carry a hand bag full of cocaine to Kotoka International Airport (KIA) without trace despite the several check points at the airport.
He further said that President should show concern about the embarrassment Ghana has been subjected to in the world by the Narcotics Control Board (Ghana) for lying about its involvement leading to the arrest of Nayele Ametefe at the Heathrow Airport.
The Presidents concern should be why it was possible for a lady to carry a hand bag full of cocaine to KIA. His concern should be the brave at which the lady carried cocaine at the airport to board a flight from Ghana with foreign passport. The government should be concerned by the weak nature of our security system at the airport in this era where terrorism and Ebola virus is threatening the country, he emphasized.
