The competition was launched in November 2014 with a total of 785 young entrepreneurs signing up for the online application process. 482 successfully completed the process.

Commenting on the competition, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR for Tigo Ghana, Gifty Bingley, said “We received very interesting and exciting entries that demonstrate the potential of using mobile broadband and ICT to improve living conditions. They included several young Tech entrepreneurs who are in need of support to start their business or need to scale up. As a digital lifestyle brand, Tigo is putting more emphasis on using ICT for development”.
