Scotland Yard Willing To Share Expertise With Ghana Police

The head of the world renowned Scotland Yard of the British Police, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has assured Ghana that the British Police is ready and willing to share their expertise and experiences with the Ghana Police Service.

The British Police Chief said this when Ghana's High Commissioner to the UK, Victor Emmanuel Smith met with him at his New Scotland Yard office in London on yesterday.

Discussions during the meeting centered on how Ghana could learn from the British some of the best practices in policing. There was emphasis on effective policing through better training to ensure improved professionalism in the Ghana Police.

High Commissioner Victor Smith also requested logistical support from British Police in the area of communication and forensic investigation.

The British Police Chief extended an invitation through the High Commissioner to the Ghana Police high command to visit with Scotland Yard at the earliest opportunity to take cooperation to the next level, going forward.

The High Commissioner was accompanied by Minister Counsellor Peter Taylor and Police Liaison in UK, Assistant Commissioner Elizabeth Dasaah.
