Two female nurses at the Ridge Hospital in Accra who were killed in Accra’s June 3 flood-fire disaster were buried last Saturday.
Management of the hospital praised the duo after describing them as “martyrs”.
The nurses; 26-year-old Emefa Agbematu, a Rotation Midwife and Harriet Bamfoe, a 25-year-old a Staff Nurse were on their way to work but unfortunately killed by the twin disaster at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle - they were among the over 150 lives lost.
Colleagues from the nursing association paid their last respect to the lost ones – the funeral was also attended by some high ranking government officials including the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Oko Vanderpuije, and Health Minister, Alex Segbefia.
