For about the fourth time in one year, wild fire has swept through parts of the Kumasi Central Market in the Ashanti Region.
More than 1,000 live birds are reported to have been burnt to death and hundreds of shops destroyed.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 10pm in the yam market before spreading to other parts.
The inferno according to the eyewitnesses has reached uncontrollable levels with fire fighters struggling to bring it under control.
Just about two months ago, parts of the market were engulfed by fire and destroyed several shops and properties.
