An eleven-room storey building at an area called Oyarifa Gravel Pit belonging to one Rev. William Amoako Atta Junior has been demolished without any court notice.

The dispute over the ownership of the six plots of land in the area across two weeks ago when someone popped up to claim ownership of one plot of the allocated area where construction works were ongoing.

This compelled Rev. Atta to make a formal complaint to the Property Fraud Unit of the Ghana Police to resolve the matter.

According to him, the department of the Police Service told the two feuding parties to go and make a search on the land to identify the proper registered name on the land for redress.

He said the two weeks ultimatum that the department gave for the search report had not expired and the two had not met again over the issue, but to his surprise, his property was demolished on Saturday, February 28.

“When I received a call from some residents around that some people are on my land demolishing the 11-room storey building, I told the people to go to the police, but unfortunately when they brought the police, they met the driver of the grader machine with registration number E-BCJ7374 who was arrested and sent to the Ayimensah Police station near Abokobi in the Adentan Municipality,” he stated.

Rev. Amoako said he bought the land in contention from the Kpodo family at Oyarifa with proper documentation and did the necessary checks on the land before he started the building.

The Daily Heritage checks at the Ayimensah Police Station confirmed that the driver of the grader machine was arrested on the building site and is assisting in investigations.
